Egg Nog
1 egg
2 tbsp. Sugar
pinch of salt (optional)
1 cup cold milk
¼ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup cracked ice (optional)
Beat all together. If you want alcoholic egg nog add liquor to taste. Normally use cream sherry, brandy, scotch, dark rum, light rum, coconut rum, spiced rum, Kahlua, Irish cream, Scottish cream (Heather), and amaretto. You can use one or all, just flavor to taste.
For a large batch, depending on your blender.
6 eggs
6 cups of milk
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
¾ cup sugar
also add spices, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and cinnamon to taste
Personally I like to make egg nog every chance I get, love the stuff. I make it for Thanksgiving, Yule, and basically any time. Ostara is no different, in fact it is even better for this holiday with all the references to eggs and life, and birth. This is a perfect egg "dish" for any holiday.
