THE CRAFT
I know that we have all done good and bad things in our past. The way that we reconcile that with our soul is by asking the forgiveness of others and by reaching out for something greater than ourselves ( hence religion ). Through religion we can define the indefinable, give reasons for the unexplainable.
To get to the basics, I believe that in all religions beat a single heart. The intent for some sort of social order, human origin, and absolving , forgiving, or explaining away our wrongdoings. One may think that "well in wicca you can cast spells to make things happen, you can't do that as a Christian". But, it is the same. They use prayer, we use rituals and calling the god, goddess and spirits to be with us.
To me choosing a religion is like choosing a beverage or favorite food. In general they are all ok, but some are distasteful for one reason or another, while others really suit your taste. You may choose one because it's cool, and that's what everyone else is doing; however if it really doesn't suit you, you'll know it within your heart.
For me personally wicca is what I desire. I've always loved nature, even though in this day and age it is really hard to be mindful of nature, when we live and work in a town or city and we are slowly pulling away from nature. We will always need nature, and if we are not careful it may not always be there for us. So in part that is one reason. Another is I believe in much higher abilities for mankind. It doesn't matter if you do it through prayer, or spells but something happens to unlock mans mind to make things happen. This is my way of looking at it.
