ORIGIN OF THE CRAFT
If you are looking for a detailed history sorry you won't find it here. If that is what you are looking for I would suggest Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler, or some books by Gerald Gardner.
Most people would like to believe that in some form or another that the pagan religions actually survived from ancient days through the burning times to the present age. Personally I don't think that is completely true. Personally I believe that the reason behind the pagan beliefs is ingrained into our psyche, sort of our own animal instincts. So the essence of pagan thoughts never died, in fact they are being born all the time. I do not attempt to be all knowing and it is quite possible for a tradition to have survived through time but I believe it is unlikely. I believe people have looked into their own beliefs and feelings and matched them up with ancient beliefs and found they were almost as one. They then recreated the religious aspects from the history and lives of primitive societies.
None of that really matters. WE CREATE OUR OWN REALITY! If we believe that our path works, then it does. There is more on this on the God and Goddess page.
