Earth

Earth is the foundation, that which all else is grown on.  Slow and steadfast is what I think of.  It brings us back to nature, and that which cannot be grasped but always gives the 'homey' feeling.  For me earth rules the North, and gnomes.

Earth is represented by the pentacle and salt.

The suit of pentacles in a tarot deck is also ruled by earth. 

Attributes	Rules nature, food, prosperity, silence, wisdom, birth and death, the body, healing, caves, mountains, metal, bones, buildings, centering and grounding, stability, motherly aspects, old age, and wisdom, to name but a few.

Tools	The Pentacle, salt bowl, stones, and drums.

Animals	Bull, cow, bison, snakes, stag.
Plants	Ivy, comfrey, grass, grains, adonis, amaranth, barley, hops, licorice, oats, rice, and root vegetables.
Tree	Oak
Stones/ Jewels	Salt, rock crystal, granite, holy stone, picture jasper, agates, amber, jet, bloodstone, geodes, malachite, obsidian, tiger eye, hematite, carnelian, and emerald.
Incense	Storax
Spirits/ Elementals	Gnomes, grain and mountain gods and goddesses, the sidh, and the sphinx.
God examples	Adonis, Athos, Baal, Enki, Enlil, the Green Man, Pan, and Bacchus.
Goddess examples	Gaia, Demeter, Diana, Ceres, Rhiannon, Persephone, and Innana.
