The Aura and Chakras
The way that I view the aura and chakras as well are a little unique (as are all my beliefs I suppose). I don't believe the soul is confined by the our bodies. Since I really don't KNOW what is out there, what I believe is that our soul exists on all metaphysical planes simultaneously. Astral travel for instance is nothing more than allowing your consciousness to flow to your astral body, and becoming finitely aware of that plane.
I view the human body as a sort of puppet controlled by your soul. The soul is aware of it's self on all planes of existence. Where as the soul exists on all planes, each plane exerts a force on the human body. Where these 'Strings' are attached, are the chakras. Because each plane is attached to the body via it's own chakra, the cumulative effect of these energy vortexes, is what creates the human aura.
The term chakra is used to denote an energy zone of power residing in or near a living being. Human beings possess seven major chakras as well as smaller energy vortexes in the hands and feet.
USING CHAKRAS FOR MAGICK
For me personally, I don't think that one needs to work with the chakras for magick to work. However, every little bit helps. You really have to be mindful of what you are doing and how involved you need to get. I personally believe you can perform magick without any tools, prayers, or spells. It is the desire and the frame of mind that you use to make magick. If you feel you have to ritual bathe first, douse yourself with essential oils, burn the right incense, all in conjunction with the phase of the moon; day of the week; hour of the day; season of the year, month of the year; representations of yourself; representations of other parties involved; and the type of spell you are doing; then so be it. If you just want to take the ones that are more significant to you, that is just as well. All that is needed is what will get you in the mood to channel your energy and focus it.
